Dr. Angelika Simma-Wallinger was born in Innsbruck in 1974. After graduating from high school in Dornbirn, she studied journalism and political science at the University of Vienna and communication at the Danube University Krems. Angelika Simma Wallinger worked for ORF for more than 15 years. During her time there, she was a radio journalist at Ö3, presented the children's news on television, designed and led "contra | der talk", an audience-interactive discussion format on ORFeins, and eventually became office manager in the television directorate. In 2015, the year in which people fled to Europe to escape the war in Syria, she moved from the media company to Caritas, where she headed up Austria-wide communications. From 2019 to 2022, she lectured on the InterMedia course at FH Vorarlberg.

Angelika Simma Wallinger has been back at ORF since September and is now editor-in-chief in Vorarlberg. In this position, she wants to work above all "so that everyone who lives in Vorarlberg can say today and in the future: I believe in this ORF, this is my ORF Vorarlberg, my media home base," says the experienced journalist and media manager.
