Bettina Steindl studied business administration at the Leopold Franzens University in Innsbruck, specializing in international trade relations, cultural management and gender studies. She worked at the two cultural capitals Linz 2009 and Ruhr 2010 and subsequently co-founded the cultural institution Urbane Künste Ruhr in North Rhine-Westphalia, based at the Ruhrtriennale. From 2014, Bettina Steindl headed the designforum Wien in the Museums Quartier and in 2017 took over the management of the application office for the Austrian European Capital of Culture Dornbirn plus. This gave rise to CampusVäre - Creative Institute Vorarlberg GmbH, of which Bettina Steindl is managing director and curator. She has curated several national and international exhibitions, including as part of the World Design Capital Taipei 2016, and teaches at universities and universities of applied sciences. She is part of the Expertinnen:Netzwerke Vorarlberg, co-founder of speakerinnen.org Vorarlberg, on various cultural advisory boards in Austria and a board member of designaustria.
