Tina, a troubled teenager, is attracted to the Afghan girl Dana. We learn from Tina that Dana's drug-addicted father is violent towards his daughter. At first, we trust Tina and admire how she protects Dana at school and in the settlement, where the propensity for violence is very high. But the closer their friendship becomes, the stronger the suspicion that something is wrong.
